I can't believe it has been almost 3 months since I wrote last. Time really does fly around here. Our family made it through the holidays. Halloween was fun ,the kids dressed up in there scary and cute costumes and got a ton of candy. Thanksgiving was special because my sister and her husband joined us. I hadn't spent a holiday with my baby sister in a long time. After our Thanksgiving dinner she and I went Christmas shopping like crazy people! We shopped Thursday night and just about the entire day Friday too, it was crazy but it was fun and I managed to get the majority of my Christmas shopping for the kids done in those two days, so it was also very productive. After Thanksgiving I spent the next few weeks decorating and shopping and preparing for Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas and the kids really did well without breaking my bank account. Unlike my ex and his wife (who I believe think we are in competition with one another, which we certainly are not) I don't feel I need to go in debt to give my family a beautiful Christmas and nice things under the tree, I shopped smart, shopped sales and set limits and it turned out wonderful! To me the best gifts are the ones with lots of thought and love behind them not the ones with the biggest price tags, not to say there weren't a few pricey items under our tree but I did very good with not going over board this year and I'm proud of that!
Now for the sad part of my post, 3 days after Christmas my husbands uncle passed away in the hospital. He was a good man in his mid fifties whom had lots of medical problems. He will truly be missed. R.I.P. N.P.
We have another big change to our household, as of a week before Christmas, we are now the proud family to a puppy. As an early Christmas present to our children we got an eight week old cane corso puppy. A very close friend of mine bred her dog for the last time and in her generosity and love for our family gave us our puppy for free. We named him Frosty! He is all white and loves the snow so the name suites him well. Our family is in love with him, but I must admit my days are much more chaotic with a 3 year old and a puppy at home all day. Peanut loves to play with Frosty and Frosty loves to play with him, they just have very different ideas on HOW to play with one another lol. We are all learning together, even our cat is settling into the idea of Frosty so I call that progress :-)
On that note my time is up, motherhood is calling me. So as always I hope everyone has a fantastic day and many things to smile about!
